A distant call echoes across the universe. It summons an ancient race of warriors called Tenno to help in a dangerous war against the Grineer who are trying to take over the solar system.
 The free-to-play third-person shooter Warframe is set in an alternate universe in the future in which a raging war is taking place between the Tenno, the Grineer, and the Corpus.

In this action-packed game, you take on the role of a Tenno who was summoned to fight the Grineer.

You are a descendant of an ancient civilization who is particularly skilled in combat, weaponry, and blades.

Grineers are a greedy race that have taken over the universe through their sheer number.
They have mastered cloning which has led to their genetic deterioration and a strong reliance on technology.
 In the free-to-play shooter, you get to choose your armor first. Tennos rely on an exo-armor called Warframe which grants them diverse skills, powers, and unique combative technology.
After you have completed the in-game tutorial, you can either choose the Excalibur, Loki, or Mag Warframe.

Choose wisely because your choice will impact your first couple of missions.

The selection is not final, however.
There are many different Warframes to explore and you can construct and purchase new Warframes later in the game.

 You will select your mission in a planetary map that displays all missions in different colors. Yellow nodes indicate that you have yet to complete the mission; blue indicates that you have successfully completed a mission; and small locks on the node indicate that you are not yet able to select a mission.
 The online game features missions in which you battle enemies and collect resources, credits, and power ups for your equipment. The game relies heavily on bringing players together. Your mission status will therefore be online by default.

Other players can join your missions at any given time, unless you manually set your status to private or solo.
